How we fill the gaps in your smile with high-quality, low-cost dental bridges

Do you have spaces between teeth where a tooth (or several teeth) used to be? Fear not! Crowns Now Family Dentistry is skilled at quite literally bridging the gap between teeth. A fixed dental bridge is designed to fill in or span the empty space. In doing so, gaps between teeth disappear and are instead replaced with natural-looking and highly durable prosthetic teeth.

How we bridge the gap

Our teams in Greenville, Irmo, Greer, and Woodruff, South Carolina, are leaders in restorative and implant dentistry. We stand by our work and empower our valued patients. So they can make an informed decision about their treatment. Plus, we have the ultimate in quality control with our onsite dental lab. These in-house capabilities help to keep our costs low and support a convenient experience and patient satisfaction with their new teeth.

Our strong and stunning bridges may be used to replace a single tooth, a few teeth, or several missing or failing teeth. A simple, “three-unit” bridge to replace one tooth is made up of:

  • The replacement tooth or “pontic.”
  • The two “abutments” or neighboring teeth on both sides of the gap or pontic

Like other restorations available at Crowns Now Family Dentistry, dental bridges may be made from various materials. These include ceramics (like porcelain), metals (like gold), or a combination of both ceramic and metal. Each material has its advantages and disadvantages, and our dentists are happy to discuss it with you. The neighboring abutment teeth support the pontic. To anchor the replacement tooth, each abutment must be crowned. Crowns generally require reshaping and resizing the teeth. That way, each crown fits on top of the tooth properly.

Once the bridge has been fashioned from the materials mentioned above, it is cemented or secured in place as a single unit (with the pontic fused to the crowns). With the bridge in place, the pontic fills the space!

Get back your healthy, vibrant smile for life.

With proper home and professional care, fixed dental bridges can last 10, 15 years, or even a lifetime. Crowns Now Family Dentistry’s friendly and skilled team can advise on products and techniques to effectively clean underneath the bridge. Of course, healthy habits such as limiting sugary or acidic snacks and sodas can help to extend the life of your bridge. To find out more, schedule your free consultation at one of our five convenient locations in Upstate and Midlands, SC.
